Jennifer Brunner Panders to Kook Bloggers on the “Public Option”

August 18, 2009 at 3:10 pm Matt

Jennifer Brunner has a rather long, generic defense of ObamaCare’s proposed “public option” on Markos “screw them” Moulitsas’ crazy-left blog, Daily Kos.

While the White House is backing off the public option in exchange for co-ops, I don’t see what the big difference is. Government will charter co-ops and run them just like a government health program, but “promise” to turn them it over to members years down the road. This is still another method which can kill off private insurance through predatory pricing. And privately, when she isn’t trying to pander to the tin-foil hat blogosphere crowd, Brunner is probably smart enough to know this.
