“Pop Tax” George Voinovich Wants to Raise Your Taxes Again
Want to know why I’m so opposed to Mike DeWine? Because he is cut from the same unprincipled cloth as George Voinovich:
U.S. Sen. George V. Voinovich today ripped both proposals to expand gambling in Ohio as an “attack on families.”
Speaking as the Ohio Roundtable, a conservative policy group, announced a lawsuit to block Gov. Ted Strickland’s plans for video lottery terminals at horse tracks, Voinovich said both that plan and a ballot measure for full casinos in four cities would suck money out of the pockets of vulnerable people.
Voinovich recalled that he faced similar budget dilemmas, albeit less severe, when he took office in 1991. Voinovich noted that he cut the state budget four times and raised taxes, and would do so again in Strickland’s position.
“I would have raised taxes,” he said.

Is it so much to ask to find a single fiscal conservative to run in this district?
RINOs are such a nuisance; thank God Taxovich is retiring. He's always acted like Ohio's nanny, not our Senator. Watch him take a paying gig with the Roundtable when he finally leaves the taxpayers alone and retires. Birds of a feather.
Judgemental, self-centered, senile tax-and-spend old fool. Thankfully, most Ohioans haven't listened to his preachy hate speech for a long time. Soon the Ohio GOP will be rid of him so we can move on into a new generation of leadership.
