The Republican Party establishment is quickly getting behind Dave Yost and not waiting for Rob Montgomery to make a decision.

And it is good to hear that, after reporting only with reporting only $27,000 on hand, since switching races he has been bringing in about $17,500/day, which is a rate he would certainly like to maintain.

More than 90% of Ohio’s 48 GOP county auditors have endorsed
Dave Yost for Auditor of State.

Yost, currently the Delaware County Prosecutor and a former county auditor, said he was humbled by the outpouring of support.

“These are my peers, people I’ve worked with,” Yost said. “To have the county auditors endorse my work – and judge me worthy to be Auditor of State — is hugely encouraging.”

Republican leaders last week asked Yost to take up the mantle of Auditor of State Mary Taylor, who recently announced will seek election as lieutenant governor. He announced Monday that he would answer their call.

In addition to the county auditors, Yost said he has received widespread support around the state. In the four days of his candidacy, Yost said he has raised $70,000.

Forty-four of 48 GOP county auditors, or 91.7%, have endorsed Yost for Auditor of State, as has the state’s sole independent county auditor. They are:
