Jesse Hathaway, OU’s unofficial Democrat assassin, has been all over State Rep. Debbie Phillips from Athens of the 92nd District. She not only did she live in a hippie commune, but she was arrested for disorderly conduct in 1991 for protesting the first Iraq War.

She, the Athens newspaper (where her husband works), and Ohio Democrat operatives have been working desperately to knock a liberal college student off the 2010 ballot. His name is Ty Collingsworth, and had a letter to the editor today in the OU post:

After reviewing the protest to my candidacy, I am ready to respond. These charges are baseless, without merit and politically motivated by Debbie Phillips and her cronies who support her votes that will destroy our state park, bankrupt our schools and will decimate our mental health system. People deserve to know if their state representative is trying to take away my constitutional right to run for elected office.

It’s a simple yes or no answer for Debbie; does she have any involvement in or connection to this election challenge to my candidacy, or are we supposed to believe that out of tens of thousands of Ohio attorneys that it’s a pure coincidence that Mr. Metcalf is using the same Columbus attorney that Debbie Phillips uses?

Debbie Phillips is not being up-front and honest with her constituents. Phillips knows she’s losing votes to a true progressive because she voted for mining at Burr Oak State Park and voted to cut state funding for mental health and our schools.

Ty Collinsworth is a candidate for 92nd district in the Ohio House of Representatives and resides in Nelsonville.

The hearing was today, and I’m happy to report that Collinsworth WILL be on the ballot.

State Representative Debbie Phillips (Democrat, 92nd district) hates democracy. There, I said it.

Why do I say this? Because, as we speak, she is illegally trying to disqualify the only person on the ballot who’s more liberal than her. Apparently, on Debbie Phillips Road, you’re not allowed to pass on the left.

Here in Athens, there are three people running for the 92nd House seat: Former State Highway Patrol Lieutenant Mike Hunter, who is running as a Republican; the incumbent, former Athens City Councilwoman and wife of the totally unbiased Athens News reporter, Jim Phillips, Debbie Phillips, who is running as a Democrat and as someone who “works closely with Governor Strickland”; and a Green Party candidate, Hocking College student Ty Collinsworth. And therein lies the rub.

has been indicted on two more charges for her illegal scheme to pay $5/voter via the Ohio University College Democrats.

She was already indicted for laundering more than $27,000 in campaign contributions through personal bank accounts during her race for county prosecutor.

Ted Strickland has remained silent throughout these ongoing scandals.

It sure looks like the Athens Democrat party bosses are trying to dump this corruption on college students, doesn’t it?:

Susan Gwinn, the county party chairwoman, said yesterday that such a plan was discussed with members of the OU College Democrats but never was instituted.

The party agreed to pay some students for get-out-the-vote efforts, but, “This whole idea that somebody was paying people to vote is ridiculous,” she said.

The flap surfaced when Kellie Galan, vice president of the college Democrats, sent an e-mail on Friday urging students to gather at 1 p.m. today to march to the polls.

“Remember, if you bring a friend from 4th Ward, they are more then a friend, they’re 5 bucks!” she wrote.

To add to the voter fraud committed by Athens Democrat party bosses and pinhead college morons, a press release from the OU College Republicans raises an interesting question about the legitimacy of Democrat State Rep. Debbie Phillips:

The Ohio University College Republicans applaud the statement of Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern regarding the current vote bounty controversy. Chairman Redfern stated: “The Ohio Democratic Party had no role in this stupid idea, and I urge Athens County Chairwoman Susan Gwinn to suspend the program immediately and not issue any payments that may have been planned. I call for a complete investigation and prosecution for any wrongdoing in this case.” The Ohio University College Republicans endorse Redfern’s call for embattled Athens County Chairwoman Susan Gwinn and the Ohio University College Democrats to suspend the program and conduct a full investigation into the matter.

Furthermore, in light of the recent revelations, the College Republicans are concerned about prior instances of this votes-for-cash bounty program. During the 2008 election in the 92nd Ohio House District, Republican candidate and Athens County Auditor Jill Thompson lost to the current representative Democrat Debbie Phillips by less than 600 votes. The College Republicans hope that a full investigation will reveal whether or not the College Democrats implemented a similar program during the 2008 election.

Christine Fahl, the candidate for Athens City Council 4th Ward who was to be the potential benefactor of the fraudulent votes, played a major role in Debbie Phillips’s 2008 campaign.

Ohio Democrat Chairman and MTR Lobbyist Chris Redfern is embarrassed by his party’s latest voter fraud efforts:

Ohio’s top Democrat this morning chided Athens County Democratic Party Chair Susan Gwinn for allegedly running a campaign that promised $5 cash bonuses to Ohio University student Democrats for helping to get out the vote. Meanwhile, the county party’s treasurer said he knew nothing about the program and doesn’t approve of it.

In an unusually strongly worded statement, Chris Redfern, chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party, said, “The Ohio Democratic Party had no role in this stupid idea, and I urge Athens County Chairwoman Susan Gwinn to suspend the program immediately and not issue any payments that may have been planned. I call for a complete investigation and prosecution for any wrongdoing in this case.”

In the latter respect, Redfern appears on the same page as Athens County Republican Party Chair Pete Couladis, who issued a release Monday night asking the county Board of Elections and county prosecutor to investigate an alleged offer by the College Democrats to pay people to vote.

And Ohio GOP Chairman has called upon Ted Strickland to demand the resignation of the Athens County Democratic Party chair.

As student organizations are typically covered under a university’s 501c3 tax status, this is most certainly grounds for the OU College Republicans to have the charter of the College Dems revoked. But more importantly, a criminal investigation must continue into the party bosses who are certainly aware of Ohio’s campaign laws.

Apparently with ACORN under a microscope, they had to instead turn to stupid college liberals to commit fraud and buy votes:
